December

This Christmas has been great for my family and I. We spent lots of time with our family, visiting our puppy, helping lots of Eritrean people, listening to music with my cousin Abby, playing the piano, sleeping in, and slowing the days down.

Tomorrow night on New Years Eve, I am going to run a 5K with my cool dad, the race starts at 11:30, and we try to beat the New Year. My goal is to be in by 11:50. My dad and I are very excited to run together.

As a family, we saw lots of fun movies. We saw Alvin and the Chipmunks and The Princess and the Frog. They were both good.My sisters and I saw them both with cousins.

Lots of fun parties at Gams. The soup was great, the program was great, and the gift exchange was fun.

YW Mutual. Going to a Live Nativity. Seeing live animals, drinking warm Hot Chocolate, laughing with friends. Doesn't get any better than that!

Meeting new people, helping them, loving them, making them smile, Watching them light up the world with their coffee creamed skin and brown eyes. Meeting Jimati and her four girls, Meeting Rahawa, Arsema, and Divora. Delivering Christmas Trees to 9 Families 36 people.

December has been so much fun. I can't wait to get our puppy in January. I am looking forward to Girls Camp, Hikes with friends and family, and so much more.

The New Addition to our Family

For one of my families presents that we got for Christmas, was that we are getting a puppy!!

Our family is so excited to walk the puppy and play with it.

My uncle Jeff's dog Marley had 11 wonderful adorable puppies. There are 7 Male and 4 Female.

We are going to get one of the females. She is very mellow but is fun to hold. The family named her Izzy, but we are going to change her name to Ruby. We are very excited.

We will get to pick her up the week of January 20. Right now, she is 4 1/2 weeks. She turns 5 weeks on Wednesday.

We can't wait to have another chic in the family. My dad is so excited!!! Here's to a great 2010!!!

October 14,2009--- Bampa's Birthday!!!

Yesterday was my grandpa Jack's birthday!!!

It has been around eight or nine years since his cancer and when he died.

But every year on October 14, we go down to the baseball diamonds where he was a coach at that very place, and we get white balloons, sing happy birthday to him, and sing Families can be together forever. There's are night.

Just this past day, I have been thinking about the memories that we have had together. I thought about how:

Him and I sat there and we would play Sorry together, and that was fun and how he would always throw me up in his arms and say "I Love You Lizzie Beth" and I wold laugh and my reply would be: "I Love you too Bampa Jack!!!"
Another memory would be me bringing up my favorite barbie in two pieces, the body plus the leg. He would say " Oh of course I'll fix that" and he would super glue and she would be good as new.
The last memory, was this very special memory:
Every time he would come home from the hospital, with my two uncles helping him up the steep cement stairs and as he walked in, he would be so much better, with a smile on my face and on his, we would run to each other, and say HEY!! I MISSED YOU!!!
I enjoyed each and every moment of my playtime with him.
Those four years of love and games were worth it.
I Love You Bampa!!!!
Can't Wait to See you!
Happy Birthday!!

The UEA Weekend.

This Weekend and Week has been pretty cool. It doesn't get any better than a five day weekend.

Going Hiking, Going to SuCasa and a Hires Grasshopper shake as a family. General Conference. Sleeping Over in Kylee and Willa's Room for three nights in a row. Playing in the cold weather with neighbors. Taking great talks away from the room and into my life. The ones I liked, were:

Elder Eyring and how we can be better
Elder Hales about testimony
How about Elder Holland's !!
Ann Dibbs and how we should not let go of the iron rod!!!
President Monson and how he talked about service!!

Going to my grandma's helping her out with her chores, and taking her out to lunch.

This weekend was also great for me, because I got to spend time with my family.

My sisters and I got to stay up late and watch movies, Monsters VS. Aliens for the first time,we loved it! We had to watch Caliou with Willa, and we also got to have sleepovers all four nights!! We each brought our baby dolls and we got to play house. We had three separate families and we were all sisters. We also got to walk done to our neighborhood coffee shop and rode our bikes down and brought warm silky hot chocolate.

My mom and I got to go and go shopping for Halloween costumes and went to the new Khols and got to see all of the fun shoes and my sisters and I had a ball in the massage chairs area, and the Elvis music, and enjoyed the laughter.

Working for my grandma was fun. I took her out to lunch for her birthday, and we organized her drawers, and we dusted lots of her shelves and we had lots of fun stuff to do!

A lot of people said that they didn't want to go back to school, but five days is enough! Not six, or seven just five.

I am a Sevy now!!

As I walked into a new setup, school and so much more, boy was I excited! I was not nervous like any other seventh grader. To be honest I had lots of choices that I had to make. I could choose between Hillside or Wasatch. Every month, I would be set on one school and then the next, the other. But finally, I came to a decision. Wasatch Junior High. Even though I have been shoved in to my locker, been hit by a skateboard in the head, lost my flip flop while coming up the stairs, Been knocked over by the faculty door, ran into a few walls, and humming softly in class when the humming gets gradually louder with everyone staring at me, and lastly having twenty different people opening my locker for me. Boy those are all the embarrassing moments that I've had. But I am not sad or angry with my choice, I am so happy. I enjoy being there.
I LOVE the classes that I am taking!! I love my teachers.
My keyboarding and CTE (Career Technical Education) Classes, are so fun and not boring. My teacher is Ms. Stubbs, she plays 99.5 every day, it doesn't get better than the Fray, Taylor Swift, Lady GaGa, Colbie Caliat, and Daughtry. It keeps me focused. The keyboarding class is helping me to learn lots of fast ways to type words and my name.

My English Teacher, is so upbeat. She is one of my absolute favorites. She is the dream teacher. She's positive, kind, cute, she reminds me of my aunt Melanie. Her name is Ms. Wallace.
But she also is helping me learn new things that make English 7 so much fun.

Math's a little crazy, Mrs. Derres, scatter brained one earring wearer, hairy armpits, but still okay.

Lunch, Subway, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Smoothie and Ice Cream Bar. WOO!

CTE: Learning what career I want to do when I grow up, how to cook, sew, write checks out to people, learning how to fill out a deposit slip

Spanish: So much fun! Being able to speak a second language is so much fun!!!

P.E.: Ran the mile and made presidential with a total time of 8:19. Cut time is 8:40

and

Science: WOW! Learning about atoms, and the periodic table is so much fun

I am so glad that I have had the experience to be at Wasatch Junior High. HOW FUN!!!

LIFE IS NOW SWEET AS A MAGNOLIA CUPCAKE!!!

THE BEACH! (and the happiest place on earth)

The first week of August, was spent in California. We went to the beach and disneyland. This trip made me realize that I am not afraid of the ocean. When my cousin and I were little, we were afraid of the ocean. But we had told all of our older cousins that we would go in the ocean EVERYDAY this year, and that promise came true.

Our cousin Abby had driven down with us a day earlier. We left on July 31, and got to Vegas and spent the night there and on Saturday we left and got to the beach at 2:00 CAL. time. Abby's family would get there Sunday. But she came with us a day earlier. One of the most surprising moments was that it was 100 degrees at the beach and when my mom asked us what we wanted to do, We all joined in and said "We want to go to the beeach and jump and ride the waves!" So we did. The water was really warm, but everyday, it got colder and colder. But we still went in the ocean everyday.

On Wednesday, we went to Disneyland. THE HAPPIEST PLACE IN THE WORLD!! We went on all of the tough and scary rides. We saw shows and parades and so much more. Here is a list of all my favorite rides:
10: Star Tours
9:It's a Small World
8: Mad Tea Cups
7: Astro Orbiter
6: Buzz Light Year
5: Autotopia
4: Splash Mountain
3: Matterhorn Bobsleds
2: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
1: Indiana Jones and Space Mounatin!
We went on a lot of fun rides and saw shows. I loved a lot of the rides. We went on a lot of rollercoasters. We had funny pictures from Splash and Space mountain. It was really fun. I also realized that when I was five years old, I missed out on a lot of fun rides.
The Beach and Disney Land were a blast.

Mom, Dad, Take me again!!! :)

Roughout Camp

This past week, I hopped into a big white van and headed up the canyon on a dirt rocky bumpy road and saw flags of the eight Young Women values. I got to be with my friends for four whole days. Boy was I... EXCITED! It turned out that it was really fun. We made moccasins, decorated journals, had turkey sandwiches, read stories about girls that were struggling in life, had cookouts, ate NAVAJO TACOS! (Boy was I in heaven!) Read scriptures, decorated totem poles, and slept with all my friends in a ten man tent! NOTHING GETS BETTER THAN THAT!

But my favorite thing about camp, was doing the activity called In Her Shoes. This activity helped me understand that I am really blessed. What we had to do, was there was a story and a pair of shoes. You had to step into those shoes and read a story about a girl. These stories about young girls were really sad. I felt really blessed to have a mom and a dad that loved and cared about me.

My second favorite thing that I did at camp, was when I got to go canoeing with my friend Natalie. We paddled against the wind, and all the other big things. We were HARD CORE!
Although she is really funny. She almost flipped us over! But my reply was : HA HA HA HA HA!

My last favorite part, was being in a big white van and listening to church songs. My friend Hayle had a CD in her car that I had made for her. I enjoyed listening to that all week! I had a blast! I enjoyed being with friends that I don't get to be with that often. I am grateful that I had that experience at camp.

The Echo Triathlon!

This Past Saturday, I got to spend my morning at a Triathlon. I woke up at 5:00 and got in my swimsuit, got in the car with my family, rode a shuttle bus up to the lake, and stepped into a wet suit. My mind was focused on the swim.

My mom and I were a relay. I did the swim and my mom did the bike and the run. I swam in freezing cold lake water, and the water was dark. My swim time was 15 minutes. At first I was scared but I did it!

On the bike and run, my mom brought it home. Our total time was 1:26. We did really well. I really enjoyed this past Saturday, because I got to spend time with my family. I am grateful for that experience.

After we finished, we stayed and waited for the results, fifteen minutes passed... we saw that we were first in the relays. We waited some more to see if we were still holding on. We did it . We stood on the podium and shared the big blue tall block together What a morning!
Thanks Dad, Ky, and Willa for being our cheerleaders!!!!!
But my reward, was going to get a bagel with my sisters and mom and GLITTER TOES!!!

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you. I won a new swim bag. My task was to name two of the staff members that worked and ran the triathlons. I guessed Chris and Rachel.I got it right and won a blue and red TYR bag. Boy was I lucky or what?
I had fun doing this with my mom, but next year I want to try it alone.

The Fireworks!

As I was laying down next to my family taking a picture of the moon and waiting for the fireworks to boom, I was tapping my foot excitedly.

In the middle of my picture taking, I heard this big boom and it even made my sister Willa cry. It was so FAST! But here is a picture of my favorite firework!

You can't really see the color, but it was the color purple. I enjoyed this firework with my family and friends. I am starting to think that purple is my new favorite color. I want purple glitter toes, I have purple flip flops, and so many clothes of mine are purple too.
I am really glad that I got to see the purple fireworks. I am so glad that I got to cuddle up in a warm blanket with my family. I hope that your fourth of July was great!

Celebrating Our Freedom

Happy Fourth of July! It has been a normal Saturday. It was a really quiet! But tonight I am going to hear happy joyful cries. Fireworks, Barbecues, Playing outside, Going to bed late, walking with family to the Country Club. I always love going down to my Grandma and Grandpa's. We have Hamburgers and Hot Dogs. We wait until it's dark and then we walk down the street to the Country Club.

I remember when I was little, my cousin and I would go racing up to my Grandma and say " Can We go Now?" Her reply would be " No it's not dark yet!" We would ask her every hour and finally when she said yes, we would get our parents in gear and our blankets ready. Then, we would run to the Country Club. I always loved asking my grandma.

I can't wait to go tonight and celebrate our country's birth. I also can't wait to see my extended family.

Happy Fourth of July everyone!

Pasta for dinner!!!

For Dinner tonight, we had... spaghetti, tortellini, green beans, and french bread.

The spaghetti reminded me of the pasta we had for dinner at Brighton camp this past week.

The tortellini was really tender and soft. It was like I was in France eating tortellini there!!

The green beans made me felt like I had just grown a few MORE inches!!

This dinner was so scrumptious.

Thanks Mom for making the meal for me! It was delicious!!

My Day, began in a pool at 6:30 am. I woke up to the sun!!

I started eating a piece of peanut butter toast and lemonade in a green water bottle

My mom drove me to the pool telling me that she would be there to pick me up and ten after eight.

Being cold I felt I just need to shake it off and fly. I did. But They gave me a long set that I couldn't remember.

Excited but frustrated, hold on to a bar and spring off the bar to do backstroke.

My day will , maybe even end with a good night

Don't you think?

Beautiful Brighton Camp

I just spent a week of my life at Brighton Camp. Brighton Camp is a Beehive camp for Young Women ages 12-13. It was the best experience of my life. I had the most spiritual time. I promised to soar like an eagle, repelled from a steep rock, read scriptures daily, slept in a bunk, hiked Twin Lake and Silver Lake, walked on ropes, sang songs, raced and participated in Runner Runner, and best of all had the best counselor named Bandanna. All of these things have been so much fun. I did more though. But seriously,if I were to tell you all of these things, we would be here all day. These things are some of my very favorites. I really enjoyed singing the songs. This experience, helped me overcome my fears. If you look at it this way, some of you know that I get afraid to go in the ocean. Well it's just like that. I wouldn't repel from a rock. Some of my fears were walking on ropes, repelling from a steep rock, going down a zip line. I did all of these things and I am so happy that I did. I went with a group of girls. They were in my Gammie's ward. Claire Gotchel, and Walden Hollinghous. I have really enjoyed learning to Trust in the Lord and soar like an eagle. I promise you that if you trust in the Lord, you'll be able to soar. Come on you guys: SOAR WITH ME!!!!
